This print uses the energy of the “root chakra”* to depict a being that is cradled in the warmth of its foundation. Not yet ready to fully burst forth, but glimmering with life and forming scales of gold, the serpent is awake and becoming. The red earth all around it lends to its feeling of preparation and incubation. The root chakra is our energy centre located at the bottom of the spine, associated with feelings of safety, survival, the will to exist, and grounded power. The sacred serpent energy represents the electricity that stays coiled within us, which unravels up the spine as we learn, connect and embody our higher selves in this life.
