Fineart Commission with 1-1 Live Consult

from CA$65.00

Communing with you for a commission is extremely fun and cozy, thank you for your trust! Here’s everything you need to know.

NEW - Just as I approach my custom tattoo practice through the act of communion, consultation, and verbal transmission toward image-making, I am now doing the same for my fine-art commission work.

Together, we first begin with a 90 - 120 minute verbal “consult” via remote video-chat, where we discuss the psychospiritual and energetic desire for the piece that will come alive and live with you once completed, and I listen for recurring images, tensions, metaphors, and symbolic threads that emerge in our conversation, discussing it with you. Once we’ve agreed on the general vibe, theme and treatment of the work, I then develop an original visual response - A high quality, archival-grade fine art piece that is yours and yours only, forever.

What the process includes

  • 90–120 minute consultation

A remote video conversation where we explore the themes, symbols, and emotional landscape that will inform the work.

  • Original archival-grade artwork

A one-of-one drawing / painting created specifically through our shared energetic process.

  • Intentional composition

Symbolic decisions around form, rhythm, spatial relationships, and visual language emerge from the conversation rather than being preselected.

  • Carefully packaged shipment

The finished artwork is mailed securely once complete.

Who this is (ideally) for

This offering is for kin who desire an artwork that carries personal meaning and energetic presence, using my aesthetic and intuitive choices as the container, with the energy exchange of the consult as the infrastructure.

Clients often commission work to honour:

  • Life transitions & personal milestones

  • Rebirthing of old chapters or selves into new

  • Ancestral honouring

  • Birthchart Reading Interpretation Add-on flat rate service, ask about it in our consult!

  • Devotion & commemorative joy!

Materials
If analog, archival-grade 140lbs - 300lbs acid-free watercolour paper, ink, gouache, metallic pigment, and if requested, raw crystal for extra energetic property (separate add-on rate).

Timeline
From the completion of our consult, completion of the work will depend on the size of the piece and whether you’ve chosen the analog or the digital route. I aim to complete the piece and ship out between 3 - 8 weeks.

Terms of Service

By checking out, you agree that you have read and accepted the following:

Commission Type:

I am currently creating original commissioned artworks in two formats: Traditional Medium Format or Digital Format, and these are not interchangeable. Traditional Medium Formats are done in high quality archival grade materials and mailed to you, while Digital Formats are emailed in high-resolution.

Payment.

All payment through the shop is for deposits on artwork, with remaining artist fees to follow once the commission is complete. All payments made for remaining artist fees are done in CAD, via Bank Transfer or Paypal. I will issue you an invoice once the initial deposit is received. For custom sized pieces, I will issue you an invoice once the overall quote has been agreed upon.

Payment of the remainder of the artist fee, quoted & confirmed via email within 48hrs of a deposit paid, is due as soon as the piece is complete. For payments over 200CAD, instalment plans are available, which will be discussed and mutually agreed upon before any drawing work has begun.

Deposits:

All deposits are non-refundable, except in the event that I cannot accept or deliver your commission request; in which case I will contact you.

The deposit paid for Traditional pieces under 9” x 12” and all Digital formats is 50% of the final artist fee, which is due upon completion (before delivery) via E-transfer or Paypal.

Cancelling A Commission.

If you wish to cancel your commission after the consult / before rough sketch approval stage, there will be no refund - your deposit will act as a credit to a future piece, for 1 year.

If you wish to cancel your commission after the consult & over 50% of the piece has been completed, there will be no refund and I will not be able to take you on as a client again. If there are extenuating circumstances, please contact me directly, and we will work it out.

Process.

After a deposit is received via the shop order, I will contact you within 48 hours via email or instagram to schedule our remote consult for your piece.

Once the consultation has been completed via video chat, the rough sketch will be sent within one week, and after providing feedback or approval, the final piece begins.

When the piece reaches 50% completion I will contact you to let you know, to provide a rough timeline for delivery, and to reconfirm details around the logistics of shipping.

Once the piece is complete, I will send you a low-res image of it (which happens before shipping a piece out or sending a high-res TIFF if digital ) along with your final invoice.

Once payment is received, I will ship out your piece or send you the final digital file, and you are free to enjoy it!

Shipping for Traditional Format works is a flat rate, outlined on the invoice sent to you at the beginning of this process, to be paid with your remaining artist fee upon completion of the work. All work is shipped expedited / Express via Canada Post. If you would like Priority mail, gift wrapping, framing, a card included, or anything else, please let me know before the piece is complete and we will arrange it.

Usage.

This work is created for your personal usage. Digital files emailed to you are print-ready for personal use. No work commissioned here is to be reproduced in any way for profit or mass redistribution. If you wish to make reproductions of the commission, you must contact me to arrange this, first. You may crop or resize the artwork for your own personal usage, but you may not alter the artwork itself. If you are interested in using your piece for commercial illustration or promotional purposes, please contact me before you do this. By commissioning me, you are purchasing the labour involved to create it and the ownership of the specific piece, I retain the copyright to all my work, which include the right to use the image as a sample for commission sales. I will not reproduce your commission in any way for profitable purposes.

Response Times

I will contact you via the email linked to your checkout within 48hrs of submission.

If you fail to respond to an email from me within 15 days, consider your commission pushed to the back of the queue.

If you fail to respond to an email from me within 30 days, I will issue you a check-in email. If this check-in email is not replied to within 30 days of receiving it, consider your commission cancelled and your deposit absorbed, and you will need to resend a new deposit to restart the process.

Portraiture

I ask that you provide good quality references, to ensure a good likeness is captured. If you do not want a portrait piece to be posted on social media, please state that in the checkout box or email exchange.

Social Media Process shots & Tagging

If you do not want WIP shots or final images of your piece posted on my social media, or to be tagged in posts of the work, please state that in the checkout description. When you are posting the work on your own socials, please credit me with my name (sab meynert) and IG tag (@studiosabmeynert), or link to either website (studiosabmeynert.com) if on another platform.

Lost or Damaged work

If in transit or thereafter a traditional-medium work becomes lost or damaged, I cannot compensate you for that. All work is sent expedited through Canada Post, and what happens to it once it crosses borders is the responsibility of the local carrier.

The Right to Refuse Work.

I reserve the right to reject any commission request I do not feel safe or able to accept, and you will receive a full refund on your deposit if this happens. If you are anti-indigenous, anti-black, casteist, racist, misogynistic, fatophobic, transphobic, homophobic, ableist, a r*pe or ab*se apologist, pro-war, or anything else I may have missed that you know fits into this list, my work is not for you, please do not submit a request.

Ethics.

Please do not claim this work as your own creation, or seek to trace or reproduce it or parts of it in any way. Please do not make derivative works based on a piece. If you want to design a tattoo from this piece, ask me. If you are looking to hire me as an illustrator or creatively collaborate, please use the contact page for your inquiries.

Cultural Propriety

As with all my work and especially tattoo, I do not take part in cultural appropriation, imitation, or derivative emulation.
If you are requesting something that is representational of your own culture, I assume you have the right and consent to do so, and you will be credited wherever necessary as having such. If you are asking to represent a personal cultural item or concept, please note that my work will always be filtered inherently through my own energy and ancestral roots. I am mindful of the limitations of representation vs. self-representation. Thank you for choosing me to do this work.

Intuitive Artistry

Because this has bizarrely come up many times over the years: I do not take part in non-consensual channelling/mediumship or any form of spiritual or energetic bypassing / boundary-overstepping to create work. Consider me an intuitive & empathic artistic vehicle, translator and map-supplier for your thoughts and desires in this commission process.

Thank you so much for choosing me to do this work. Now that that’s over, let’s get into it!!!!
